Is It the flu or is It a Cold?

FLU VS. COLD

It's hard to tell the difference between the flu and a common cold. Both respiratory illnesses make you feel awful but they are caused by different viruses. Here are a few ways to help tell the difference:

 

Flu Symptoms

Sudden onset of illness

High fever

Extreme fatigue

Dry cough

Achy head

Achy muscles

Chills

 

Cold Symptoms

Slow onset of illness

Low or no fever

Mild fatigue

Severe cough and runny or stuffy nose

No headache

No achy muscles

No chills

 

Because cold and flu symptoms are similar, consult your doctor to be sure.
